2012 Predictions for Social Media – Is it YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ ?

I love these end-of-the-year collections of the most interesting events and the looking-ahead prediction articles. Looking back and looking forward is a great exercise in higher brain skills! I prefer to look forward, so here are a few of my favorite lists and articles.

2012 Phyllis KhareLooking Forward

Social Media Examiner’s post includes 30 predictions from a range of social media marketing people, including me! If you look at all these predictions as a template for what to put your attention on in 2012 – you’ll do really well in 2012 I believe. I guess we’ll find out in 2013!

Likeable Media’s Predictions Nice Slideshare presentation by Carrie Kerpen

Social Media Today’s post by Brian Solis — “Businesses will have to embrace all of the disruptive elements, such as mobile and social technology, in a new, cohesive organization that is focused outward and inward.” <– I believe that is right on the mark. He references this report –> 2012 Social Marketing & New Media Predictions which I think needs to be required reading for anyone with a business (including all the social media marketers out there…).

And a great compilation of the 5 Must-Reads – again on Social Media Today, but this time by Chad Richards.

There are literally hundreds of blog posts on this subject. You can continue the search by doing a Google search on “2012 social media predictions”  and filter it for just this past week.

Enjoy the reading :-) I hope 2012 brings you everything and more of what you want, not only for your own particular “world” but for the entire world community.

DFTBA (Don’t forget to be awesome) Nerdfighters.

Social Media Marketing Webinar – Convert Views into Revenue – hosted by iPhone Life magazine

Here’s the update on the social media marketing webinar I gave for the people connected to iPhone Life magazine. First of all, I had a blast going through some great actionable things app developers and small businesses can do right now on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more.

Here the link to their blog post follow up.

And here’s a bit of their post:

This past Tuesday we hosted a fantastic webinar with Social Media Expert Phyllis Khare. She gave us a sneak preview into her full Social Media Ninja workshop program. The webinar was a huge success, and for those of you who missed it, below you can play a recording of it (it’s just over one hour long). A lot of people asked for the Powerpoint Slides and for the information about her full program, which includes a one-on-one consultation with Phyllis, 60 days of unlimited email support, and full access to her learning center, where she has video tutorials that show you how to rock YouTube, Facebook, Google+, and LinkedIn.

There’s a lot of specific information on their blog post about this special program I created for their community. If you are an app developer, or small business owner — you should go and read about it. The spaces are filling up pretty quick!

Here’s the webinar recording — you can go to their post to see the slideshare presentation, too.

Find out what the new Facebook changes mean – Expanded Answers from the #SMManners Twitter Chat

I really enjoy a good Twitter chat. And last night was another example of a great community built through the Twitter stream using hashtags to create a real-time “chat”. When people talk about Twitter going out of style, I always remind them of the power of the Twitter Chat. Look at these stats for last night:

If you haven’t enjoyed a Twitter chat yet, take a look at this schedule and find one you think you’ll enjoy. Then read this post  about how it all works. When my second book comes out, I have a large section in the Twitter chapter about chats, too. (more…)

Protect your photos with the iWatermark iPhone app

Sometimes I’ll take what I think is a really good photo and want to share them on my social sites, but have in the back of my head I’d like to protect them, just in case I decide to use the photo in a business project down the road. I used to think – well — I’ll have to take it over to Photoshop and create a watermark to project it. I might be a bit later to the game, but there is a wonderful app that is so much easier than using Photoshop — iWatermark by Plum Amazing.

Enjoy the quick video and check it out! (more…)
